Aiden at 5 months

This was a month of firsts for little Aiden.  He first enjoyed his jumperoo, which he loves.  Jennifer came out for her first visit since Aiden was born.  He had his first solid food, rice cereal.  There were some others and I'll walk you through them with these pics.

Check me out - I can bounce!

Look how long I am!

From the kitchen I heard the music from his bouncy chair.  When I turned the corner, this is what I saw!  I was so excited that he had reached up and grabbed Mr. Frog!

I almost have my toes to my mouth.

First time rolling from tummy to back.

My best friend, Jennifer, came for a visit and we had a great time.  We went to the National Zoo in Washington D.C. and saw lots of animals.  Aiden had a good time looking at all the funny animals.

Aiden had the best ride around - in the stroller!

I think Aiden is going to be a reader like his Daddy.

We had a big milestone this month with feeding Aiden his first solid food.  Jameson was so excited to feed him his rice cereal.  With me breastfeeding Jameson was anxious to become a part of the feeding routine.  Aiden did such a good job and was definitely ready for solids.  He opened his mouth really wide and leaned toward the spoon.  The first day we fed him in his Bumbo seat, but he kept falling forward and couldn't sit up straight enough so the next day Jameson got out the highchair.  I can't believe how big he is getting and I almost cried while videotaping the event!

I'm ready.  Bring on the cereal!

Aiden couldn't move if he tried.

Aiden's new game of trying to figure out what Mommy's mouth is.

Playing Catch-Up

I'm sure many of you have noticed the fact that I am waaaaaayyyy behind on updating the blog.  So, with Jameson at a football game and baby and puppy down for the night I'm sacrificing precious sleep time to do as much as possible! I'm starting with Aiden at 4 months old and working up to current time.  Because I have a lot of pics to post, I'll keep the commentary to a minimum. :)

My very happy baby

I loved this outfit with the little hat!  Too cute!

Bedia the Protector

Jameson and I have been watching the show "Life" on Animal Planet.  Each week talks about something different in nature and this particular week was on reptiles and amphibians.  They talked about the komodo  dragon and showed a piece on one hunting a large game animal.  Supposedly dogs can't watch TV and I've always agreed with that until this day.  When that komodo dragon came on the screen Bedia followed it with her eyes with her ears perked up and on guard.  After a couple of minutes she started barking at it!  She was using her protection bark that she uses in the backyard to scare off any predators.  This is what she was born to do.  After it went off the screen she'd lay down, but as soon as it would come back she was up in front of the TV again barking at it telling it to go away!!

It was hilarious and Jameson and I couldn't stop laughing.  Once we got a hold of ourselves we had to correct the behavior, because we don't want her barking at the TV every time there's an animal on it.  Sure enough, the other day I was watching Sweet Home Alabama and when the bloodhound starting barking Bedia barked right back at it.  Our little puppy is growing up into the protector we were hoping for.  She's 10 months old today, 85 pounds and still has some growing to do.  Anatolians don't fully mature until they're about 2 years old.  She's tall enough that she can rest her head on the dining room table.  She loves to go for walks and to go to the dog park to play.

Everyone always asks how she does with Aiden, and she is a very good girl.  For the most part she just wants to lick him.  She naps most of the day and becomes more energetic and playful when Daddy comes home.  She's such a good dog and we still love her to pieces and look forward to getting her a playmate in a few years.

Aiden in June

I can't believe that Aiden is going to be 4 months old in just a couple of days.  He is doing all kinds of new things and growing to be a big boy.  Here are some of my favorite pictures from this month.

He really gets a kick out of Mr. Bee and likes to smile and laugh at him.

Aiden thought it was pretty funny when Bedia started to lick Daddy's face and it tickled.

Talking to Mommy

It's Superbaby flying through the air and drooling on Mommy

I took Aiden swimming for the first time at the beginning of the month with some girlfriends and their babies.  The water was pretty cold, but Aiden didn't care.  He LOVED swimming with Mommy.  I'd float him in front of me and travel around the pool while he just smiled and laughed.  Towards the end his bottom lip started quivering from the cold water, but he didn't care and kept right on smiling!  We started swimming lessons last week and he loved that too.  We're hoping to have a water baby that will love the water as much as we do.

I'm ready Mommy - let's go SWIMMING!!

His first time trying the Bumbo seat and he did pretty well keeping his head steady and not falling over.

Chillin' with Daddy

We're all ready for Purdue football - TOUCHDOWN!

Aiden thought it was pretty cool to be looking at his toys from a new angle.  Too fun!

I love this picture of my little man.  He's too cute!

Papaw Tom comes for a visit

At the end of May, Jameson's dad came out for a visit.  Papaw Tom finally got to see his new grandson.  Now all of the grandparents have loved on him and Grandma Great is waiting for her turn in July.  We had a great time having Papaw Tom here to spend some time with us.  We did a lot of hanging out watching WWII movies, since it was Memorial Day weekend, and we went to D.C. a couple of times.  Jameson was so excited to have his Dad in town to spend some quality time with him.  Here are some of the highlights of his visit.

This was technically before Papaw Tom's visit, but too cute not to post.

Bedia was so excited to have someone new to play with, after she decided it was okay for Tom to be there first.

The first time facing forward in his Baby Bjorn.  He was excited to see all of the planes at the National Air and Space Museum at Dulles Airport.  Jameson has been dying to get there since we moved out here.  It was pretty cool.
